Barcode Programme 29-Jan-2013

BRIEF INTRODUCTION

Sangli Turmeric Cluster Pvt. Ltd evaluated the need & essentiality of Barcode & hence arranged a seminar of "Awareness Programme on Barcode" on 29th January, 2013 so as to make the cluster members aware with the basic concepts of Barcode Technology, all the way through to the most advanced topics such as the actual methods used to scan, decode & verify all types of Barcodes, so as to enhance the efficiency and productivity, market accessibility and cost effectiveness in a business imperative today. The seminar was divided into two parts. The first part began with introducing the basic elements with how that Barcodes are composed of; and the second part consisted of advanced topics such as new symbologies. With a sum up to seminar on Barcode, all the Cluster members came up with an understanding of the relationship between symbologies, the benefits of different symbologies, as well as the challenges presented by each symbology to those involved in producing or scanning the codes. The cluster members were able to decipher the truth of how Barcode is a valuable and viable choice for businesses looking up to improve efficiency & reduce overhead. It also explained them of how inexpensive and user friendly, a Barcode would serve as an indispensable tool for tracking a variety of data & reduce the overhead.



About the Presenter:

The Barcode programme was initiated & presented by MSME-DI, Mumbai & Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP). The presenters from MSME-DI, Mumbai were Shri. G.M. Ambore (Director, MSME-DI, Mumbai) & Mr. Abhay Daptardar (Asst. Director, MSME-DI, Mumbai) The presenters from Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP) were Mr. G. Velladurai & Mr. S. Joseph. The host & welcome of the presenters on behalf of Sangli Turmeric Cluster Pvt. Ltd. was done by Mr. Satish Shelke (General Manager, DIC, Sangli) and Vote of Thanks was delivered by Mr. Rajiv Patil (Chairman, Sangli Turmeric Cluster Pvt. Ltd.)

It has sensitized & spread awareness amongst the Cluster Actors to obtain Barcode, thus to increase retail supply.
25-30 Members would be obtaining Barcode so as to access retail market.
